D.O.T. Physicals are physical tests that drivers need to take and pass to ascertain that they do not have health issues and that they can safely operate a commercial vehicle. Commercial transportation typically involves long journeys and heavy loads. Thus, it is optimal to ensure that a driver is fit to manage the stress, pressure, and responsibility that driving these vehicles entail. A D.O.T. Physical involves a review of a driver’s medical history and evaluations of their vision, blood pressure, hearing, and other health indicators. The driver will also undergo urinalysis and other in-office tests.
